Aura Jamboree details 2021 plans

There will be no formal Aura Jamboree again this summer, but there will be music at the historic Aura Community Hall.

In a recent letter to performers and supporters, Jamboree organizers said uncertainty about COVID-19 guidelines has forced them to cancel the indoor portion of the July festival, including the musical performances and the Friday and Saturday evening dances.

Instead, a less formal outdoor event is planned for Saturday, July 17th. A sound system will be set up in the pavilion adjacent to the Hall. That day, performers can sign up to take a turn on a first-come, first-served basis. Tents may be set up elsewhere on the grounds to accommodate the Jamboree’s traditional informal jam sessions.

There will be no admission charge, but donations to support the hall will be accepted. The concession stand will not be open, and those attending are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages.

Organizers hope that the full Aura Jamboree will be able to resume in the summer of 2022.
