A Missing Sidnaw Man was Found Safe Yesterday Near the Railroad

A missing Sidnaw Township man was found yesterday. On Sunday Michigan State Police troopers, Houghton and Baraga County Sheriff deputies, and Superior Search and Rescue were dispatched for reports that a 68 year-old man was missing from his residence on Firetower Road, near Sidnaw Road in Sidnaw Township. Yesterday at around 1 pm Houghton County deputies located the man in good health, walking along a railroad. The 68 year-old man told the deputies he had become disorientated while on a walk, getting lost, and spending the night in a hunting blind he had found. He had also made a small fire to keep warm at one point in the night. Michigan State Police would like to thank the responding agencies and volunteers who helped in the search.
