Ladies had a chance to catch some great deals last week in Houghton. But the holiday savings will move a bit north today. Ladies’ Day in Calumet takes place today starting at 10 am and lasting until past sunset at 8 pm. Ladies’ night shopping events in the Copper Country help promote spending the holiday gift shopping spree at local small businesses. And was started many years ago coinciding around the same time as the Deer Rifle season’s opening day. While Dad is out in the woods hunting to fill the freezer, Mom is out hunting down the perfect gift ideas for the whole family.
Across Calumet, there are more than 20 businesses taking part in the special day of shopping. And there is even a chance for shoppers to win a prize for all of the money they’ll spend. Each participating store has selected an item valued at 25 dollars to add to a gift basket. At each store, shoppers can add their name and phone number to a drawing box.
