Update: 53 Year Old Man Shot Dead in Houghton

Update 11/14/23 10:13 am: One person was shot dead last night in Houghton. Monday evening at approximately 7 pm, Houghton city police were called to the Douglass House – Armando’s restaurant for reports of shots fired. Police were able to secure the scene and clear the public from the location before beginning their investigation. The department discovered a deceased 53-year-old man in the bar’s bathroom. One suspect was taken into custody and lodged in the Houghton County jail. Officials say that no other information will be made available until the suspect’s arraignment in 97th District Court. The owner of Armando’s Restaurant says that the building will re-open for regular hours tomorrow.
