Plans are set for the fourth annual People of the Heart Waters Walk, coming up in a couple of weeks. The event is meant to celebrate and bring awareness to the conditions and issues faced by the great lakes, and is organized by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, in collaboration with WUPPDR and Copper Harbor. The three day walk will travel 90 miles, starting at the Sand Point Lighthouse in Baraga, and end at the Astor Shipwreck Park in Copper Harbor. Everyone is welcome to join the water walkers this year, check out the group’s facebook page for more information as the event gets closer. The 4th annual People of the Heart Waters Walk will start on October 8th.
