The 41 North Film Festival arrives once again to the Rozsa Center this year. In just two days the annual festival offers the community and students the opportunity to view thought provoking, entertaining, award winning fimls and documentaries from around the world, and explore a wide range of issues, ideas, people, and stories. Two films are geared toward high school students in the area, with Hockeyland and Boys State. As well as two films based in Michigan, with Bad Axe and The Sentence of Michael Thompson. The festival has also focused on films telling the stories of native Americans. Including works by Michigan Tech Alumni and Anishinaabe Producer and Filmmaker Kalvin Hartwig’s with This is Who I Am and The Territory. The later follows an on the ground look into the fight between native Brazilian tribes and forestry companies as the state of the Amazon rain forest becomes more important to the health of the globe. Several Q and A sessions with director and producers of other films such as Big vs Small, Bitterbrush, and more.
