Each year stewards of the Great Lakes gather for the Great Lakes conference to learn about current conditions, future projects and programs, and much more. Tomorrow the Great Lakes Conference will invite a series of special speakers to present at the online conference. This year the Great Lakes conference has invited Dr. Elan Pochedley, an 1855 Professor of Great Lakes Anishinaabe Knowledge, Spirituality, and Cultural practices from Michigan State University, as the keynote speaker. The conference will also include presentations on emerging issues with PFAS and Coastal Resiliency in the Great Lakes, current research about Great Lakes species, and challenges presented by marine debris in the lake system. Those interested in registering for the Great Lakes conference can find a registration link here.
