$100K in Grants Towards UP Deer Habitat Improvement

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced $100,000 in grants towards Upper Peninsula deer habitat improvement.

12 grants were awarded across 10 of the UP’s 15 counties.

The primary goal for each of the projects include producing tangible white-tailed deer habitat improvements, building long term partnerships between the DNR and outside organizations, and showcasing the project benefits to the public.

The total value of the projects that were awarded grants was $201,541.

The maximum amount for each individual grant is $15,000, and the minimum is $2,000 .

The initiative is supported by the state’s Deer Range Improvement Program, which is funded by a portion of deer hunting license revenue.
