Canal View of Houghton County enhances the experiences residents have at the long-term care facility by adding a Mobii table.
Recently Canal View Houghton County became the first facility in the Upper Peninsula to add a Mobii Interactive Sensory Table to the home. Mobii is a portable motion-activated system that allows people to engage with projected images and games, including personal videos, and photos that can be uploaded to the device. Residents can also interact with each other and sing interactive digital games that react to movements like swiping, touching, or poking images projected on a table.
Life Enrichment Director Alisha Davis says the Mobii system has over 150 games and includes features like music, nature sounds, and puzzles, and has brought new ways to laugh and socialize to residents. Director of Rehab Monica Maki adds the device is an exciting piece of equipment that challenges stereotypes that digital games are for those who are tech-savvy or youthful.
