Veteran’s Day ceremonies create a feeling of pride among the Copper Country’s residents. Honoring veterans throughout the year has created many great events and a feeling of community in the Copper Country. But there’s something special about meeting living veterans in the area at Veteran’s Day ceremonies. On Monday for Veterans’ Day Houghton High School and Hancock High School have invited veterans and the community to the districts’ ceremonies starting around 11 am. Hancock High School Annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony:
On Monday though the Copper Country will come together to honor living veterans during Veterans’ Day. Hancock Public Schools has called on veterans in the area to join the district’s Veterans’ Day ceremony. The event will include music from the Hancock Band, lunch with students and staff, and a guest presentation from Kevin Meyers. During the Veterans Day ceremony at Hancock High School, the school will also collect donations for Operation Copper Country Active Duty to send gifts to service members on active duty. The ceremony will begin at 11 am.
Houghton High School Veterans’ Day Ceremony:
On Monday, the Houghton High School invites veterans in the area to attend the Veterans Day ceremony starting at 11:11 am on November 11th. The day will be led by JROTC students, with music from the High School’s band and choir. The high school has also invited the community to the ceremony to help show support and honor Copper Country veterans during the event.
