Adams Township School district officials respond to an image online showing students holding toy guns while posing for a Halloween photo. A recent photo posted online shows several students dressed as President Trump’s Secret Service team. Two students can be seen holding toy guns in the photo. Adams Township Schools Superintendent Tim Keteri said in a statement to our outlet, that Halloween is a day full of distractions. And while not an excuse for the oversight, the district will seek to do better in the future.
That image is not reflective of the district that’s what I want to say image we know that that picture was posted I don’t know by who but it is not our image and we didn’t follow our board policy we need to be better and we will be bomb we have to learn from this you know I mean we have to be aware of the world then and we didn’t recognize that and going through this in and hearing I don’t want to say all raised but hearing the displeasure of alumni of this district we need to be better and I know we will we have to be better. – Tim Kereti, Superintendent, Adams Township Schools
Keteri adds that the toy guns should not have been returned to students after being inspected. He notes that school policy does not allow students to possess toys or fake weapons like guns, knives, or machetes. Adams Township School will host its monthly board of education meeting next Tuesday. The meeting will begin at 6 pm inside the Jeffers Media Center at Jeffers High School.
