Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is warning people of fake pet rescue services. They say that recently scam accounts have been popping up in their comment sections on Facebook, directing people to fake Facebook groups claiming to be professional pet rescuers. They say these pages offer to help find lost pets and demand payment for their services, but they are not legitimate. Here’s how Upaw says you can protect yourself.

Ignore and report any comments or messages directing you to these fake groups. Upaws will never ask for payment for assistance in finding lost pets. Always contact Upaws directly if you need help or have concerns. Share with others to spread the word and help keep the community safe. If you see any suspicious activity, report it and block them.
