Houghton County Transfer Station compactor fails, no longer accepting construction debris until further notice

The Houghton County Materials Management Station temporarily will no longer take construction debris. Until further notice, the Houghton County Transfer Station will only accept solid waste due to a compactor failure. The station will not accept construction or demolition debris while the department works to replace the compactor. The Houghton County Materials Management station apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the community for its cooperation at this time. Anyone with questions should contact Faculty Manager Curt Judson with any questions at 906 482 8872.
