Gogebic Community College Foundation recognizes several leaders connected to campus

The Gogebic Community College Foundation will honor six individuals during its 2024 Celebrations of Achievements banquet next week. Earlier in the year the GCC Foundation board of directors selected several individuals with connections to campus to honor as exemplified supporters of Gogebic Community College. The college will honor three alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Honor including Michael Kusz, Kevin Store, and Marian Nodberg.

Kusz earned an associate degree from the college before attending the University of Minnesota in 1978. In 1990 he was elected the district court judge of Dickinson and Iron counties. His service to the court makes him the longest serving district court judge in Dickinson and Iron counties.

Store graduated from the college in 1997 with an AAS in general business degree. In 1996 he entered the non-profit sector and in 2014 was named the president and CEO of the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation.

Marian Nordberg attended GCC while studying nursing and Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. Nordberg would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree and MA in Teaching from the University of New Mexico and sustain a fifteen-year career teaching nursing students in Marquette, Sante Fe, and Las Vegas. She also supports an endowed nursing scholarship fund at the college.

Other honorees at the Celebration of Achievement with the Gogebic Community College Foundation include individuals for the Distinguished Faculty Member and Lifetime Legacy Award.
