One person died after a crash where a driver ran a stop sign in the eastern Upper Peninsula, according to a spokesperson for Michigan State Police.

Thursday evening, MSP said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. earlier that day in Rudyard Township, southwest of Sault Ste. Marie.

That’s when they say the driver of a Subaru carrying three other people failed to obey a stop sign and was struck by a UPS truck.

We’re told the UPS driver was relatively unharmed and that the Subaru driver only received minor injuries.

Two passengers in the Subaru were seriously hurt and were rushed to the hospital. First responders attempted CPR on a third passenger who was later pronounced dead.
