Joanne Marie Stiglich, age 71 of L’Anse, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at U.P. Health System Marquette, MI.
She was born December 11, 1952 in Greenfield, WI daughter of Frank and Margaret (Petit) Sayotovich. Joanne graduated from Greenfield High School and University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse. She married James Stiglich on August 6, 1977 at Sacred Heart in Milwaukee, WI. They resided in L’Anse where she worked at Ed Clements Insurance Co and then as a dental assistant for L’Anse Family Dental, retiring in 2015.
Joanne was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church; as an active member she was in the choir, lecturer, and the ladies auxiliary. She was an avid quilter and gardener. She enjoyed crafting, baking and spending time with friends and family. Her most recent favorite past time was spending time with her 5 grandkids who meant the world to her.
Surviving are her husband Jim of L’Anse; daughter Katie (Jeff) Gregorich of Marquette; son David (Ellie) Stiglich of Marquette; sisters, Marion (Randy) Tobolski of Beaver Dam, WI, Norma Mahr of Oak Creek, WI; brothers, Joe (Kathy) Sayotovich of Oak Creek, Peter (John) Sayotovich of Washington DC; grandchildren, Jackson, Violet, and Norah Gregorich, Leo and Avery Stiglich; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents Frank and Margaret; and brother Paul Sayotovich.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19th from 10-11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jins Joseph officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
