Houghton County narrows Administrator candidates down to four

Houghton County will have a new administrator soon.

Yesterday the Houghton County Commission called a special meeting to discuss the administrator hiring process. Former county administrator Ben Larsen resigned from the county last month. He plans to stay on to help smooth the transition for the incoming hire. Houghton County received 15 applications and has narrowed its list of candidates to four.

A special meeting to interview each candidate will occur next Wednesday, October 16th. Interviews will begin at 9 am. Ideally, the county will seek to hire one of the candidates next week, to have them start as soon as possible.

The county has said the candidates’ names will be released with the agenda for the special meeting. The interviews are open to the public.
