High School

In high school volleyball last night…

  • Dollar Bay blanked Baraga 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-13). Kiera Isaacson had 22 kills and eight digs for the Blue Bolts. Macy Jurgensen had 12 service points and 37 assists, Laila Bell had 13 service points, Evelyn Moilanen had eight kills and eight digs, and Kaylynn Smith had 14 digs.

College Volleyball

The Michigan Tech volleyball team plays at Northern Michigan tonight at 6:30.

NHL

The Red Wings open their regular season tonight at home against the Penguins. With the Tigers playoff game in Detroit as well, the Wings game has been pushed back to an 8:00 start. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, we’ll join Wings coverage after Tigers baseball on KBear 102.3.

NBA

The Pistons play their next preseason game at Phoenix tomorrow . Listen for selected Pistons broadcasts again this season on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

The Tigers are just one win away from advancing to the American League Championship Series, after blanking the Guardians 3-0 yesterday. Six Detroit pitchers held Cleveland to six singles. The Tigers collected just five hits, but one was an RBI single by Riley Greene in the first inning, and another an RBI double for Spencer Torkelson in the sixth.

Tigers hurlers have not allowed a run over the past 20 innings.

Detroit leads the best-of-five series two games to one. Game three will be played tonight in the Motor City. Tanner Bibee will start for the Guardians. Detroit has not named a starter. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, Tigers coverage will begin at 5:40 on KBear 102.3.

The Yankees outscored the 3-2 yesterday to take a 2-1 lead in their American League Divisional Series. Those teams meet again today.

The Mets advanced to the National League Championship Series with a 4-1 win over the Phillies. New York wins that Divisional Series 3-1. The other National League Divisional Series is tied 2-2, after the Dodgers bombed the Padres 8-0 yesterday. That set will be decided tomorrow in Los Angeles.

NFL

In tonight’s NFL contest, the 49ers visit the Seahawks. Coverage will begin at 8:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
