11th annual Ride Against Abuse with the BKG Shelter Home revs up on Monday

Rev up the engines the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home’s motorcycle ride will begin next week. On Monday the BKG shelter home hosts its 11th annual Ride Against Abuse through the Copper Country.

The ride shows support for victims of domestic abuse and brings together the area’s biker community. Last year’s event included more than 30 riders. The event is celebrated each year on the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s Day of Unity each first Monday in October.

The BKG Shelter home ride against abuse awareness event will start at the AmericInn in Calumet at 6 pm on October 7th. This year’s route will take M-26 through Laurium into Lake Linden before crossing the Portage Lake lift bridge and ending at Kestner Park in Houghton.
