Revex Technologies awarded $195 Million for its REV Nickel Project

An MTEC SmartZone client earns a 145 million dollar grant from the Department of Energy’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains.

Revex Technologies has been awarded 145 million from the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, a part of a recent award of 355 million dollars in grants awarded to Michigan-based EV battery and energy storage manufacturers. Revex Technologies will also earn an additional 50 million dollars from the Make it in Michigan Competitiveness Fund to invest in dedicated efforts over the next two years, for a total of 195 million dollars invested into the REV Nickel Project.

Revex will have sustainable reshoring and responsible processing of critical metals needed for the nation’s transition to clean energy says MTEC SmartZone CEO David Rowe. CEO of Revex Technologies John Rockwell added the company will add to the state’s recent start-up success by creating immediate job creation, and technological innovations with a strong focus on sustainable reshoring of critical minerals.

The Revex Technologies REV Nickel Project partnership in Marquette County will produce nickel concentrate and other critical minerals using mine tailings and spent lithium-ion batteries. The project expects to add 115 new clean tech jobs and support over 360 construction jobs over two years.
