MLB

Tenth-inning RBI singles by Parker Meadows and Riley Greene lifted the Tigers to a 3-1 victory over the Royals last night. Casey Mize pitched into the fifth, and gave up one run. Shelby Miller, Beau Brieske, Tyler Holton and Jason Foley allowed Kansas City just one hit after that.

The Tigers visit the Royals again tonight. Tarik Skubal will start against Alec Marsh. Coverage will begin at 7:15 on 99-3 The Lift.

The Twins also won, so Detroit remains a game-and-a-half behind Minnesota in the race for the final American League wild card playoff berth.

The champagne remains in the refrigerator, after the Brewers dropped a 5-1 decision to the Phillies last night. Frankie Montas pitched into the sixth, gave up three runs, and took the loss. Garrett Mitchell’s fourth-inning triple plated William Contreras with the Crew’s only run.

The Brewers entertain the Phillies again tonight. Freddy Peralta will pitch against Aaron Nola.

The Cubs also lost, so the next Milwaukee victory or Chicago loss clinches the National League Central Division title for the Brewers.

NFL

Just a few days ago, the Lions signed former Vikings and Packers kicker Greg Joseph to their practice squad. Yesterday, they lost him, when the Giants added him to their 53-man roster to fill in for injured kicker Graham Gano.
