Obituary: James W. Klein

James W. Klein, 65, resident of Pelkie, passed Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the North Shore Health Center in Florence, WI, where he was a patient.

He was born on June 24, 1959, in Hancock, MI, a son of the late George and Mary (Kendall) Klein. Jim was raised on Quincy Hill and was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1977. He then attended Michigan Technological University where he received a Business Degree.

On October 10, 1981, he was united in marriage to the former Jenise Pesola. The couple had resided in Elo and Hancock before moving back to Elo to raise their family. On April 15, 2016, Jenise preceded Jim in death.

Mr. Klein was a devoted Catholic but enjoyed visiting different churches in the area. James worked as an Auto Body Technician until his retirement in 2019 from First Choice Autobody in L’Anse. He also had a love of music and was proud to have been the drummer for Avarice for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, making wood, and picking fruit for his homemade wine. Jim was a proud grandpa who enjoyed every minute he could with his grandchildren. He also was an avid Green Bay Packer and Detroit Tigers Fan.

Preceding him in death were his wife, his parents, his sisters; Carol Egerer, and Pat Poggione, his brother: John Klein; his In-laws: Marv Egerer and Mike Wilmers

Surviving are: His children: Jasmyne (Tom) Bellow of Chassell, James (Viktoria) Klein of Pelkie; His step-son: Ryan Pesola of Elo; His grandchildren: Austin, Hunter, Lily, Krimson and Hadley; His siblings: Marge (Pete) Nutini, Betty (Pete) Wickley, Kathy (Dave) Wanhala, Barb Wilmers, Nick (Gerri) Klein, Kris (Randy) Oertel, Phil (Marie) Klein, and MaryBeth (Steve) Laiti; His brother-in-law: Peter Poggione; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time to remember Jim will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service – Chassell Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 5:00 pm in the Elo Cemetery.
