Gogebic Community College proudly announced on Tuesday that Karen Ball, Interim Dean of Occupational Programs & Registrar will join 37 other community college professionals on a nine-month-long learning journey. The MCCA leadership program has worked with educational professionals in the past eight years to strengthen the pipeline of leaders within community colleges. President of the college Chris Patritto says this is a great opportunity for Ball and the GCC to develop as a leader for community colleges in Michigan. The MCCA Leadership Academy is a state-focused program that provides hands-on professional development to emerging leaders in the community college sector. The 37 professionals nominated in 2024 for the leadership academy come from 22 community colleges in the state. Michigan, New York, and Texas are the only states to offer such a specific professional development program.
