Obituary: John “Kega” Dahlgren

John “Kega” Dahlgren, 93, a resident of Mohawk passed away on Saturday September 7, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on February 27, 1931 in Mohawk a son to the late Wagner and Helen (Erkkila) Dahlgren.
Kega graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1949.
On September 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Jacqueline Ormsby. They just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Kega was employed for short time at C&H before he went to work at General Motors as a tool maker. He worked at GM for 37 years retiring in 1991. He returned to Mohawk immediately after retirement and has made his home in Mohawk since. For the last 27 years he spent the winters as a snow bird in Punta Gorda, Florida.
He enjoyed to play and watch golf, baseball and hockey.
Preceding him in death were 2 sisters: Barbara O’Brien and Margaret Rantanen. 
Surviving are: His wife of 69 years Jacqueline Dahlgren
Sons: Mike (Debbie) Dahlgren of Greenbush, MI
Bob Dahlgren of Mohawk
Mark Dahlgren of Linden, MI
2 Grandchildren: Matt and Leah
2 Great Grandchildren: Jude and Vada.
A graveside service with Pastor Jared Howard and military honors conducted by the Copper Country Veterans Association will be held on Tuesday September 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Eagle Harbor.
