It might have been the end of summer over the weekend in Hancock. But fall is full of activity in the Copper Country. Recently Visit Keweenaw shared 15 festivals and events that will take place in the Keweenaw Peninsula this autumn.
September starts that fun, with the End of Summer celebration and Geek UP that took place this last weekend. As well as the Yoop Fest for underground and indie Midwest music and the annual Michigan Tech Parade of Nations in a couple of weeks. Fall color season is just around the corner and the Copper Country Fall Color Tour kicks off the regional change in the last weekend of the month.
Residents and visitors won’t have to travel far for the feeling of Germany’s Oktoberfest with several Bavarian-themed events and Brewfest events from September to October. There’s also the Keweenaw color run, Fall colors with the ATV club, Houghton’s Fall Fest, and a Heart the Heartlands to view the colors from the top of Brockway Mountain in October.
Then the cooler temperatures will make it easy to cozy up at the Rozsa Center for the 41 North Film Festival from November 7th to the 10th.
And don’t forget to help visitor Keweenaw break the Plaid-urady record at Houghton High School on October 4th.
