Rita May Musich, age 81, a resident of Calumet, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and daughter by her side on Sunday August 25, 2024.
Rita was born on May 30, 1943 in Dodgeville, Michigan to parents Emil and Mamie (Sandretto) Vincent. She attended Lake Linden Schools graduating from Lake Linden High School with the class of 1962. In 1993 she married Joseph Musich in Calumet, Michigan. Throughout life Rita worked as a Cook, Baker, Housekeeper, Machinist and Home Health Care Aide.
Rita enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved baking and cooking, lake trout fishing and going to the casino. She and her husband, Joe, spent six months in the winter in Myrtle Beach where she enjoyed shopping, dancing, happy hours and people watching on the Boardwalk.
Rita is preceded in death by Her parents Emil and Mamie Vincent, and her sister Janet Laplander.
Rita is survived by her husband Joseph Musich, her daughter Susan Tikkanen (Craig Burich), Myrtle Beach, SC, her sons Wayne Tikkanen and James (Kim) Tikkanen, Calumet, MI, step-daughter, Joey (Tommy) Shows Pensacola, FL. Her grandchildren Jeremy (Laura) Solmonson, Rebecca (Tyler) Junttila, Kyle (Chrissy) Tikkanen, Andy (Jenny) Tikkanen, Bruce Tikkanen, Kelsey (Tom) Randall, Brandon Tikkanen, Heather (Michael) Marcotte, Ryan Harju, Cody Kilpela. Great grandchildren Gwendolyn, Colin, Jackson, Miles, Grady, Sage, Hudson, Brooklyn, Trista, Emily, Maija. Her sister Mary King (David Mitchell) of Lake Linden, Michigan and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rita is also survived by close friends Shelly Stieber Ross of Shelby Township, MI, Jim Vandenbush of Lake Linden, MI, and Bruce and Wanda Kerttu of Calumet, MI.
Private family services will be held.
