Plans have been announced to try to extend the Copper Country’s dominance in the world of plaid.
The second annual Keweenaw Plaidurday Celebration on October 4th will include an attempt to extend the record for the most people wearing plaid in one place at one time.
Last year, 1,745 people gathered on the Houghton High School football field to set the Guinness world mark. Organizers hope to increase that number this year.
Participants should wear something plaid, and meet at the field at 11:30. The group photo will be taken at noon. All are welcome.
Officials at the Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau say additional Plaidurday activities are also being planned, with details to come.
