Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics has added Family Medicine Physician Kristi Wegener, MD, to its the staff of its Laurium clinic.
Dr. Wegener specializes in comprehensive and preventative care for the whole family. She has special interests in preventative, outpatient, integrative and lifestyle medicine.
Dr. Wegener is originally from Bay City. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health from the University of Michigan, and a Doctorate from Michigan State University – College of Human Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at UP Health System – Marquette where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Wegener completed training in Integrative Medicine, a discipline that prioritizes a holistic approach to healthcare. This approach considers not only the patient’s medical condition but also all factors affecting their health, wellness, and disease.
