Copper Shores Outreach and Education Invites Baraga County Families to Make Good Choices

Copper Shores Outreach and Education’s goal to build stronger communities starts with strong families. Over six weeks in August and September the Copper Shores Outreach and Education team will host a virtual workshop series called Guiding Good Choices for Baraga County families. The workshop series, put on in partnership with the NorthCare Network, will offer the program for free to bargain county families with children between 9 and 14. The program intends to strengthen family units through open communication, conflict resolution, and setting clear boundaries. Children will participate in one session designed to equip them with the tools for resisting peer pressure while maintaining friendships. Over the six sessions, the series will have parents and caregivers learn about actions to promote healthy development and reduce risky behaviors in the teen years. The program will share the resources and tools for families to build strong supportive bonds and foster open communication between parents and children. Baraga County families interested in participating in the six-week program with the Copper Shores Outreach and Education should contact program coordinator Lisa Simpson to register by August 18th. The program will officially start on August 19th. Those interested in learning more about the Guiding Good Choices program for teens and parents can find more details here.
