Upper Peninsula Power Company will temporarily close the Boney Falls boat launch tomorrow. UPPCO has announced the company will temporarily close the Boney Falls boat access facility for Dam No. 4 on the Boney Falls Reservoir to remove equipment that was used for maintenance and improvements completed by UPPCO this summer. Manager of Communications and External Affairs Dan Freeborn asks the public to avoid the boat launch on August 8th while crews are in the area to disassemble a construction barge and unload materials from the summer work. As an alternative, the company suggests using the launch located near Dam No 3 on the Escanaba River. Construction activities have concluded at the site, and crews will work to remove equipment and materials from the location. Those interested in learning more can find details here.
