Voluntary blood donations save lives.
Alhough blood supplies are always in need, rural regions often struggle to fill the needs of the community.
The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center regularly sets up donation sites throughout the region all year round. Tomorrow the UPRBC will host an annual blood drive at Canal View. Blood supplies are essential to providing critical medical treatments, such as in the case of a severe injury or during surgery.
The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center supplies inventory only to Upper Peninsula hospitals, keeping donations in the local area. Which provides healthcare workers with the necessary tools to save up to three lives with a single donation. In addition to encouraging residents to donate blood for local patients, the regional blood center encourages residents to become blood drive sponsors or coordinators.
The blood drive at Canal View for the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center will open at 11 am and run until 3 pm.
