The Ontonagon Conservation District calls on people interested in taking a leadership role with the group. The Ontonagon Conservation District will seek persons interested in serving the conservation district’s Board of Directors. The Ontonagon Conservation District works to provide protection, restoration, and conservation of natural resources within Ontonagon County. The board of directors for the conservation district makes important decisions related to water quality, fisheries, wildlife habitat improvement, and invasive species identification and removal. Candidates for the board positions will need to apply by September 6th. An annual meeting to vote on board members will take place in November. People interested in joining the Ontonagon Conservation District must reside within the county and will require five petition signatures from district residents.
