Laurium Manor Inn Competes Against Other Premiere B&B’s Across the Country

The Laurium Manor Inn looks to earn rank as one best Historical B&Bs by Newsweek. Pushing aside the list’s other top bed and breakfast locations around the United States. The Laurium Manor Inn stands alone as the Upper Peninsula’s representative in the Newsweek Best Historical B&B contest. The grand structure was built by mining magnate Thomas Hoatson Jr. for his wife Cornelia, in 1908. The four-story home stood as the largest residence in the Keweenaw Peninsula featuring 45 rooms. In 1989 the site became the home of bed and breakfast while regaining many of the home’s unique and historic features. In 2024 the Laurium Manor Inn competes against other well-known bed and breakfast locations like the Churchill Manor in California the Thomas Bond House in Pennsylvania and the Cartier Mansion in Ludington. The Newsweek Best Historical B&B contest will announce its 2024 top 10 on August 22nd.
