Copper Shores Meals on Wheels Announces New Name for Meal Sites in the Copper Country

The same delicious food shared with great friends has a new name. Copper Shores Meals on Wheels congregate sites that serve seniors in the Copper Country have a new name. Going forward Meals on Wheels Eat and Meet sites will continue their routine of serving seniors healthy meals Program director Kathleen Harter says that as residents grow older opportunities to socialize with others over a meal becomes more difficult. But programs like the newly named Meet and Eat become important to improving the community’s well-being. The congregate sites’ new name was picked by a naming contest that encouraged the community to get involved. Meet and Eat comes from the mind of Kara Galbraith, who encapsulated the mission and benefits of the program with her suggestion. Meet and Eat sites will continue the program’s exceptional service and quality food options for seniors. The sites occur during the week at various locations around the region. Anyone over the age of 60 can attend a meet-and-eat site for free.
