Wall Street Journal Names Isle Royale National Park the Uncrowded Park in 2024

The Wall Street Journal highlights Isle Royale’s wonder and isolation as the best uncrowded National Park in the country. Recently the Wall Street Journal published in its lifestyle and travel section an article analyzing the United state’s national park system for traveler consideration in 2024. Choosing to highlight the country’s most pristine parks with limited crowds. 

Isle Royale topped the Journal’s list for the best-uncrowded parks, which included North Cascades in Washington, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon in California, and the Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas. Other locations to make the Wall Street Journal’s list include Big Bend, Denali, Lassen Volcanic, Great Basin, Death Valley, and Yellowstone.

Isle Royale can only be accessed via ferry, unlike the other parks on the list that all include at least one entry by road. Each summer the island welcomes more than 20,000 visitors, far fewer than others on the list such as Yellowstone. That receives closer to 4.8 million people in the visiting season.
