Houghton- Billy Ray Lell, 85, a resident of Houghton passed away on July 6, 2024.
He was born on October 10th, 1938 in Missouri. At 17 he joined the Navy and served his country for over 10 years.
Following his time in the service, Billy worked as a civilian contractor as a computer specialist for the Department of Defense and also contracted in this field in the private sector.
In 1984, he met Judith Iovan and they were married the following year. Billy and Judy lived in many places throughout the United States as well as overseas. In 2002, they moved to the Copper Country and built a home in Houghton. He worked locally for the Copper Country I.S.D. and later started Osma Acres CSA Farm in his retirement.
Services for Billy will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Grace United Methodist Church beginning at 10:30 followed by a procession to the Oscar Cemetery and a luncheon at the family home.
