Luella Marie Beaudette of Calumet, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 27 th, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Luella was born in a small cabin in Popple River Wisconsin to Harry & Lenora (Eastman) Buckman on January 24, 1932. As a young child, the family moved to Houghton Michigan where Luella attended school and graduated from Houghton High School.
She married WWII veteran John Beaudette on May 10, 1951. Soon after, Luella began her life as a devoted Air Force spouse. She raised 4 sons as the family moved between Air Force Bases across the nation. Initially, she worked as a nurse but became a stay-at-home mother after her second child. After retirement from government service, John and Luella retired to their beloved Copper Country. Luella spent the last few years with her family in Black Forest, Colorado.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lenora Buckman, husband John Beaudette, son James Michael, infant son Robert, brothers Donald, Marlon, Sylvester, Russell, sisters Helen (Bell) and Catherine (Markham). She is survived by three children: John of Reno, Nevada, Joseph (Susan) of Black Forest, Colorado and Jerome Daniel of Black Forest, Colorado. Luella’s surviving grandchildren are Seth (Denver) Beaudette of Letts, Iowa, Travis Beaudette of Blue Grass, Iowa, Sean (Jinhee) Beaudette of Suwon, Republic of Korea, Stephanie Beaudette of Colorado Springs, Colorado and great-grandchild Calypso Jo Beaudette.
According to Luella’s wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials in Luella’s memory may be directed to a local Animal Shelter.
