The tourism season might have some Copper Country residents feeling a little cramped, and with the addition of construction projects in the region, traffic can cause a little frustration. While the Michigan Department of Transportation has already begun work on m-26 just past the lift bridge. Hancock will have multiple projects start over the next month around the city. City manager Mary Babcock says that these projects are necessary to improve Hancock’s infrastructure. Sewer improvements will take place around Hancock in several locations. Road improvements will take place at North and Prospect Street between Ingot and Birch Street. The Minnesota Street project will repair sections from Michigan to Ethel Street. City staff will also conduct Drinking water asset management in various locations.
