UPCAP Dementia Caregivers Series Registration Opens for Summer Program

The demands of caring for an older relative weigh on a family. At the end of July, the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress will host a third Dementia Caregivers program for residents of the Upper Peninsula. The completely online program over three sessions shares vital information with family caregivers and caregiving professionals about the stages of dementia. As well as information about identifying signs of the progressive disease, and different engagement activities that can help improve mental activity.

The Dementia Caregivers Series UPCAP hopes to raise awareness for the challenges family units face, as well as share important tools that can help caregivers better understand where patients are at. The three sessions are held on July 25th, August 1st and 8th in the afternoons. The hour-long program does ask caregivers interested in attending the program to register before July 21st. Those interested in learning more about the UPCAP Dementia Caregivers Series starting at the end of July can find more details and registration information below.

There is no charge for this program, but registration is required. To register, visit www.upcap.org (click on EVENTS) or call 2-1-1 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EST) for assistance. Registration ends on July 21. Participants must have a device with internet connection and email address to attend.

Dementia Caregiving Series is offered by Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP). This series is available in part through funding from the Older American’s Act and Michigan Department of Health & Human Services Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports.
