Mohawk Technologies and Local Businesses Show Support for Healthy Minds and Mental Health

The Shine the Light 4 Health Minds 5K gratefully announces the event’s community sponsors. Next week the Keweenaw Community Foundation, Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds, and the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office will partner to bring the Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds 5K and Fair to Eagle Harbor.

The event encourages residents and visitors to get outside, stay active, and raise awareness for mental health. The Shine the Light 5K’s copper sponsor Mohawk Technology has donated 500 dollars toward the event. The event’s silver sponsor is Impaled Tattoo and Piercing. Followed by Bronze sponsors Calumet Electronics, Frozen Farms CO, the Phoenix General Store, and Wildkat Builders.

Keweenaw Support for Healthy Minds volunteer Michelle Morgan says that each sponsor’s commitment to the event represents a community willing to help others. Keweenaw County Sheriff Curt Pennala adds it has been a great opportunity to work with the Keweenaw community foundation and support 4 Healthy Minds to bring this event to the Eagle Harbor area and looks forward to supporting the cause with residents next week.

Participants in the 5k will also get to enjoy an afternoon picnic with the organizations, while kids play pick-up basketball with sheriff deputies and check out equipment during a touch-a-truck activity. Those interested in participating in the Shine the Light 4 Healthy Minds 5k in Eagle Harbor next Thursday can find more details and registration information here. Registration for the 5K will cost 25 dollars for an individual. Those that register before tomorrow will also receive a t-shirt to commemorate the event. Those registering after June 21st are not guaranteed a commemorative shirt.
