Copper Shores Outreach and Education will reschedule the Negaunee ASIST training in July. The Copper Shores Community Health Foundation’s Outreach and Education program will partner with West End Health Foundation to Host the Applied Suicide Interventions Skills Training course in Negaunee.
The training program teaches individuals about the signs to look out for in a mental health crisis and suicidal thoughts. And also share skills for how to guide someone to seek the proper resources for suicide prevention. The training encourages both professionals working with people dealing with mental health crises and residents of communities who want to help others not feel alone or lost.
The two-day training course will be rescheduled to July 23 and 24. Copper Shores Outreach and Education says that the program date will change to accommodate for a larger class size. Participants in the training will work with training experts over a full workday from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
This training is open to the public, and provided at no cost thanks to the West End Health Foundation. To register for the training, call (906) 482-9077 ext. 303, or email kmartens@coppershores.org. The deadline to register is Wednesday, July 19.
