Upper Peninsula State Bank Announces Plans to Build Bank Office in Downtown Houghton

Upper Peninsula State Bank proudly announces a move into downtown Houghton. Last week the city of Houghton approved a purchase sale agreement for property at 902 College Avenue. The sale will develop commercial and mixed-use space in the location and adjacent lot area. Following the city’s approval Upper Peninsula State Bank announced plans to expand its presence in the Copper Country. The bank recently purchased property at 908 and 912 College Avenue to develop a full-service banking office. Currently, the bank has a location in Houghton at 960 Razorback Drive that opened in 2022.

Upper Peninsula State Bank CEO Dave Williams says that the decision to build a new branch location in Houghton underscores the regional banking leader’s commitment to bringing a full range of banking services to the communities of the copper Country. Chairman of the board Robert Bink adds that for 120 years Upper Peninsula State Bank has focused on serving the financial needs of Upper Peninsula residents and businesses, having been proudly recognized as a top-rated bank in Michigan.

Upper Peninsula State Bank also has locations in Escanaba, Gladstone, Iron Mountain, Marquette, and Houghton.
