A local 4H club member earns first place in the Michigan 4H Creative Campaign Contest. Houghton – Keweenaw 4-H’er Aleah Simpson recently placed first place in the 14 – 19-year-old age bracket of the Michigan 4-H Creative Campaign Contest. The statewide contest asked 4H members in Michigan to create a video that shares their 4H story to encourage participation by future youth. Aleah’s submission to the contest includes her voice-over sharing her passion for becoming an active member of the 4-H club locally and how the program has helped her grow various skills and knowledge. Houghton Keweenaw County 4 H Program Coordinator Anne Kretschmann says that the program is very excited to share Aleah’s work and passion with the community. Adding that the video shows her creativity and commitment to spreading the word about how the program has impacted her life as a 4-h member.
