MLB
The Tigers salvaged one game of their weekend series against the Brewers with a 10-2 romp yesterday. The Tigers opened with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, then plated eight more off Bryse Wilson and Hoby Milner in the fifth. Jake Rogers capped the inning with a three-run homer. Tarik Skubal tossed six shutout innings, then left as Milwaukee scored once in the seventh. He struck out 10.
The Tigers have today off, and will host the Nationals tomorrow. Kenta Maeda will start against Mitchell Parker. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers host the Blue Jays tonight. Colin Rea will pitch against José Berríos.
NBA
The Celtics stopped the Mavericks 105-98 last evening. Boston leads the NBA championship series 2-0, with game three set for Dallas on Wednesday.
NHL
The Stanley Cup series continues tonight, as the Panthers host the Oilers. Florida leads the series 1-0.

Fishing
At the Keweenaw Bay Classic Fishing Tournament Saturday…
• The Lake Superior Jigging team claimed the Lake Trout title, with a catch of 67.56 pounds. The Last 24 team caught the biggest Lake Trout at 19.76.
• The Rippin Lips Jr. team won the salmon competition, with a catch of 31.76 pounds. The Triple T team caught the biggest salmon, at 18.89 pounds.
The competition was overshadowed by the tragic loss of one of the boats involved. The 21-foot craft capsized off Second Sand Beach. Three of the five on board were rescued by another boat from the tournament that was nearby. Several other competitors also joined the search. Two more are presumed drowned. Names have not been released. The L’Anse Fire Department has begun a “Fill the Boot Campaign” to support the families of those affected. Look for the boots in local businesses over the next few days, and help as you are able. The Baraga County NextGen Team, which organizes the tournament, has indicated that they will be setting up accounts today at Superior National Bank and the Baraga County Credit Union, where donations can also be made.
Guts Frisbee
The Shottle Bop team won its second straight Wisconsin Guts Frisbee championship over the weekend, defeating the Monte Carlo squad in a rematch of last year’s final. Shottle Bop worked their way to the final through the loser’s bracket, after an early loss to Monte Carlo. Both matches between the local teams went to three sets.
Bridgefest
Bridgefest weekend is coming up, and there are several athletic events involved.
