Simple Kindness for Youth Excited to Bring Chicken Bingo Back to Bridgefest

Throughout the year simple kindness for youth helps kids with the little things to get through school. By supplying students in the Copper Country with the tools for school, or even new shoes or a jacket, the organization has touched many lives in the community. Vice President of SKY Robert McGowen says that the organization works directly with teachers to identify students in need and has a history of keeping grants for kids private. Due to the group’s desire to keep things simple for kids SKY often doesn’t get out into the community. But one of the best events to learn more about SKY’s members and mission occurs during Bridgefest at Chicken Bingo.

This is a great time for the public to meet our board and ask us questions. And quite often, we might not make that much money during chicken bingo, but some magic checks come to us. And some of them, don’t want to be put on our donor list. They just, here’s the money. Because one of the big things Sky does is every penny donated goes to a kid. And people say, wow, how do you do that? I said because we live in a very special community. – Robert McGowen, Vice President, Simple Kindness for Youth

With Bridgefest only one week away the excitement will only continue to build. SKY looks forward to another fun year of chicken bingo and meeting the community face-to-face. Chicken Bingo will take place in Kestner Park on Saturday of Bridgefest, starting at 4 pm.
