A water main repair project may impact travel to the Houghton High School and Middle School next week. On Monday the school district informed the community that next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28th and 29th, crews will shut down a section of Gundlach Road directly south of the school building for water main work. The project will take place on Gundlach Road between Pilgrim Road and Fredrick Street. During the two-day project, a detour will redirect traffic from Gundlach Road to Pilgrim Road Second Street to BF Gaffney Drive, and back to Gundlach Road, or vice versa.
