Copper Shores Outreach and Education will partner with West End Health Foundation to host a suicide prevention training course next week in Negaunee. Next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Great Lakes Recovery Center, the two groups will bring together residents willing to ASIST with suicide prevention. The Program will discuss the ASIST Method or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training. The two-day workshop will teach participants skills to prevent suicide, and how to intervene in a crisis, by trained professionals.
Copper Shores and West End both ensure that individuals do not need previous prevention training experience to attend. The training program is free thanks to the West End Health Foundation for participants to attend. The organizations do ask those interested in the workshop to register for the two days by Friday. Those interested in learning more about ASIST or the two-day workshop with Copper Shores Outreach and Education and West End Health Foundation can find more details here.
