Obituary: Annette Joyce Koepel

As received from the Pearce Funeral Home:

Lake Linden: Annette Joyce Koepel, 88, of Lake Linden, passed away at Potage Pointe in Hancock on May 11, 2024.

Annette was born on August 4, 1935, in Lake Linden, daughter of John and Irene (Remillard) Dupuis. She attended Saint Joseph Catholic School in Lake Linden and graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School. Some of her fondest memories were her senior class trip to Washington DC and 50th reunion with the class of 1953.

On September 3, 1956, she married Edward Koepel at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. They were married for almost 62 years when Edward passed away on August 24, 2018.

She gave her time, talent, and love to the needs of her parish family. She was active with the Altar Society, Centennial Committee, religion teacher and loved her experience as a chaperone to World Youth Day in Denver, CO – travelling with members of the St. Joseph parish to see Pope John Paul II in 1993. She was steadfast in her Catholic faith, sharing her love of Christ with her family and community.

Above all else, Annette’s family was her world. She was generous with her time and her home was open to all. She loved cooking, baking, and entertaining; including hosting family events from graduation parties to showers to game nights. There was always room at the table for another guest. She loved the gals in the Red Hat Society and her classmates, many from elementary school days. Annette lived a truly joyful life, surrounded by so many people who loved and adored her.
