Evan Dixon’s review hearing has been rescheduled to June. On Friday Evan Dixon’s preliminary exam was moved to a later date due to a scheduling conflict. Dixon’s case is overseen by 98th District Court Judge Anna Talaska. Dixon practiced law in Houghton County for several years, before his arrest for the murder of Theron Duncan in November 2023. Because of Dixon’s status in the law community within the county, Judge Talaska from Gogebic County was asked to fill the seat of Houghton County Judge Nicolas Daavettila. Dixon faces charges of homicide in the first degree and felony firearm. He is represented by Karl Nueminen in the case. Dixon’s bond was denied at his arraignment last November. Dixon will return to the 97th District court on June 28th for a review hearing.
