The Department of Technology, Management and Budget says it’s going to be a good summer for teenagers looking for work.
The department’s summer forecast expects a teen unemployment rate of 17.2 percent over the June to August period. It is the lowest projected teen unemployment rate since 2005 when it stood at 17.9 percent.
In summer 2014 the teen unemployment rate was 20.2 percent.
The state estimates 253,000 teens will look for work this summer, and about 210,000 will find employment.
